New Car Service
Do You Need To Have Your New Vehicle Serviced?
You Don’t Have to Take it to the Dealer!
Let Don’s Import Auto Service perform the service and maintenance on your new vehicle.
Contrary to what some might think, your new car warranty does not have to be serviced at a new car dealership in order for the manufacturer’s warranty to remain in effect. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation’s consumer protection agency, says:
“In fact, it’s illegal for a dealer to deny your warranty coverage simply because you had routine maintenance or repairs performed by someone else. Routine maintenance often includes oil changes, tire rotations, belt replacement, fluid checks and flushes, new brake pads, and inspections. Maintenance schedules vary by vehicle make, model and year; the best source of information about routine scheduled maintenance is your owner’s manual.”

How does this benefit You, the consumer?
Below are just some of the many benefits for being able to choose where to have your vehicle serviced:
- Allows for consumers who are not conveniently located to the place of purchase to have their vehicle serviced while still maintaining their warranty.
- Enables the consumer to choose a facility that they believe provides the best service.
- Encourages competitive pricing since one facility does not have a monopoly on a vehicle’s service.
Get A Second Opinion
Just like getting a second opinion from a doctor, it can be prudent to get a second opinion from a mechanic. If you are unsure of any service recommended for your vehicle, feel free to get a second opinion. Any repair facility, including the dealership, should meet your criteria of service and integrity. After all, it’s your vehicle so be sure to understand what work is being performed and most importantly, why it’s being performed.
